Earlier this month, 13 of my colleagues and I spent our Commonwealth VTO (volunteer time off) day working for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat offers two ways to volunteer: either helping in the building of affordable housing (sold at no profit) or working in one of its ReStores. The ReStores are retail outlets that sell new and used building and household materials that are donated by companies and individuals. The profits from these ReStores help to fund the affordable housing builds. (more…)
Jon Munro has been a part of the Commonwealth community since 2006 and is currently a supervisor in our Service Center. In this role, Jon coordinates day-to-day operations, oversees personnel, guides efficiency initiatives, and serves as an escalation resource to our associates and advisors. He is one of a select few who were elected to a year-long appointment on the Commonwealth Cares board for a 2013–2014 term. (more…)
