Providing Food For Families in Our Community

2014 food driveThis past August, Commonwealth once again collected and delivered non-perishable food to the Sacred Heart Church Food Pantry as part of our annual food drive. Last year, we made the switch from the Greater Boston Food Bank to a smaller church in downtown Waltham that helps support dozens of local families. We felt the food should stay closer to the area in which we work, helping to aid families in our own back yard.

The amount of food donated topped last year’s total for a whopping 3,900 pounds. That is about 1,800 pounds more than last year! We sincerely appreciate all the help we received from people who either donated money or canned goods, made supermarket runs outside of work hours, and also those who helped pack and deliver the food to the pantry. Sacred Heart was overwhelmed by the support we provided them and we hope to continue providing the families of Waltham with even more food next year!

A special thank you to my Operations Priority teammates Bob LoPorto and Monica Spencer Lopes, who helped coordinate this initiative with me.
